June 3, 2022, Adabraka ACCRA: The President of African University College of Communications (AUCC), Prof. Abeku Blankson has said that AUCC will host an international academic conference for students to test their ideas in an environment with policy makers, investors, industry players and media.

“Students from the continent will be invited to present their research at the conference and so  should not depend on external forces for help to produce their research work.

“It is common knowledge that some students pay others to do their research work for them and that is unacceptable. We don’t have to depend on external forces for help”.

Prof. Blankson made this observation at the school’s Level 400 2022 Project Proposal Presentation at the forecourt of AUCC with the theme, “Bridging The Gap Between Today’s Academy and Tomorrows Industry”.

According to Prof. Blankson, the main purpose for the presentation event is for students to put what they have learned into reality. He said that by so doing, lecturers can determine whether the project was done by the students themselves or by outsiders.

In all 37 groups presented proposals in the areas of media, branding, social campaigns, policy guidelines and others. There were artifacts, video exhibitions and flyers to complement the delivery.

Earlier in the program, special guest Kenneth Thmpson, Chief Executive Officer of Dalex Finance, said the presentation was the building block for the future and that students can succeed when they autodidact. He urged students to continue reading even when they step into the working world.

Students said the event has helped them put into practice what their various specializations have been about.

“I was nervous at first, but when we started I am glad I was able to present,’ said a L400 student who pitched her group’s proposed guidelines for branding alata soap. “The style of the presentation is a good initiative because it will help us put what we have learnt into reality”, she added.

The poster presentation is an initiative by President Prof. Abeku Blankson.
