Gadhafi’s Assassination: Obama’s Message to Self

“The rule of an iron fist inevitably comes to an end,” U.S. president Barack Obama stated upon getting confirmation of the assassination of Libyan Pan-Africanist leader Muammar Gadhafi. So, another one has bitten the dust. Obama and his NATO goons have succeeded after 8 months where no other has…CIA, M16, Mossad, Reagan, Bush, and countless more. The story of the kill was recycled on cable networks consisting mainly of ignorant talking heads, confused right-wing spin doctors, sub-standard phone video aimed to tarnish whatever remaining shred of dignity the ousted leader may have retained, and a few staged “pro-America” Libyans sprinkled on the Misrata streets “in jubilation” chanting the anthem “Allahu Akbar.”

The National Committee on African Unification Front (AUF)’s Alimamy Bakarr Sankoh insists the Libyan invasion is “because of its Oil-Riches, nothing more…This determination to either kill the Libyan leader or split the country into two is being done under the thin veneer of a purported UN Security Council resolution that has imposed a no-fly zone on the country”. Wall Street must be beside itself with glee, rubbing its clammy palms in contemplation of the future of the vast oil reserves believed to be the richest in the world which, thanks to Obama and N.A.T.O, are now at the disposal of “the free market”. This may be so, but how does this help Americans? The truth is, Libyan oil reserves – sweet as they are – cannot postpone the decline and fall of the market system as it is ran today. The debilitating factors are systemic. And internal. And based on flawed premises.

So, the question is: what is the point of the Libyan invasion? The point is simple; even more important than oil to the West is the deliberate policy to de-Islamize the region. The West has become so paranoid about the onslaught of Islam that its intelligence focus is trained directly on the space occupying the longitudes between Afghanistan and Algeria and the latitudes between Syria and Yemen. This space is filled by the countries with the highest concentration of Moslems by population. It does not take a fetish priest to see that the more “westernized” this region is designed in future, the less religious they will continue to become. This is why the West has been wasting lives and resources and ideas in this region.

Nations in the azure region have majority Moslem populations who sit on oceans of oil.

With the rise of Islam in recent times, European and American leaders have been employing different pretexts to advance a policy of de-Islamization. After bin Laden’s hit on New York, the issue became urgent. Whips were cracked when opponents were not comporting enough (e.g. Iraq); carrots were dished out when they tended to acquiesce (which is why in January 2004, Bush II convinced Libya to forego armament/ Condi Rice visited in 08 to pour libation/ Obama welcomed him in New York warmly in 09 etc.) All these were encouraged toward the weakening of the grip of the religion of Islam on the region. And then came the so-called Arab Spring.

The U.S. administration’s argument for intervention in Libya is that, in this case, Libyans called for it; then the regional body the Arab League endorsed it; and then friends of the U.S. i.e. NATO supported it; and, then finally the United Nations approved it. Damn. Since when have the wishes of a few in a sovereign nation been reason enough for foreign-led coup d’états? Would the Tea Party numskulls’ invasions of street corners to protest the legitimacy of Obama’s presidency, sometimes with guns, count as the people “calling for it”? The Arab League: since when did the Arab League decide what happens on African soil? It’s like the Union of SouthAmerican Nations (USAN) “endorsing” a regime change in the United States. NATO? Latin America’s ALBA bloc of nations would be too happy to “support” any such schemes suggested by Chavez/China. Remember: The rule of an iron fist inevitably comes to an end.

As for the crippled, disgraced United Nations, the less said the better. “What these so-called teachers and defenders of democracy have however forgotten is that the Security Council is not authorized, according to the U.N. Charter, to intervene in the internal affairs of any country, and any attempt to do so using any kind of reason will be the legalization of injustice and aggression which will undoubtedly have grave consequences not only for the Middle East but Europe and Africa as a whole” challenges AUF’s Sankoh.

Today it’s Gadhafi; who will it be tomorrow? With OccupyWallStreet picking up momentum by the second, Obama and his goons should remember: The rule of an iron fist inevitably comes to an end.
