Discovery House, Adabraka Accra, November 4, 2022: Author and holistic healer Araba Ofori-Acquah has reminded creative writing students at African University College of Communications in Accra to pay attention to their mental health and take it seriously.

Araba Ofori-Acquah was speaking at a reading clinic hosted by the Ama Ata Aidoo Book Society (AAABS) at the Sam Quaicoe Library at African University College of Communications (AUCC) last Thursday, November 3, 2022.

The author read her piece Transitions from The lockdown anthology published by the Ama Ata Aidoo Centre for Creative Writing. Transitions is a story of discovery during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.

Araba Ofori-Acquah said it is important to pay attention to mental health, its impact and its ramifications on everyday life. As a holistic healer, she shared information on how to deal with issues concerning the body and the mind.

“Your mental health is important and it ought to be taken seriously”’, she advised.

Araba Ofori-Acquah’s forthcoming book Return to Source: UNLOCK THE POWER OF AFRICAN-CENTRED WELLNESS will be out April 4, 2023.
