Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. These sentiments were shared by Prof. Abeku Blankson, President of African University College of Communications Monday November 30 when school representatives presented two GUPS Pro awards to him at his office.

African University College of Communications (AUCC) garnered two trophies at this year’s Ghana Union of Professional Students (GUPS) Pro annual awards held at the Ministry of Information GNAT Hall in Accra Friday November 26.

The awards were organized by the Ghana Union of Professional Students (GUPS), the largest umbrella body of professional students in Ghana drawn from 15 ratified schools. It began as the society for professional educational institutions.

AUCC won two awards in the categories of Best Campus Radio (to Afronova Radio) and Best Communication School.

President Blankson congratulated the delegation that was led by AUCC Students Representative Council President Samuel Okodie Agyakwa. He said whatever a student achieves in school follows them into the real world.

“Whatever you do is for your own benefit; it will be on your CV,” he said, commending the students for promoting the image of the school. “But remember: success is not final; it is what you do after success that counts,” he added.

He said management is ready to support individual and group initiatives especially in entrepreneurship in line with the school’s motto: “Discover yourself from here”.

Appropriately, the foundational tools for this self-discovery are found in the courses offered by AUCC, adjudged the No. 1 communications school in Ghana.

Also presented to AUCC President Blankson by SRC president Agyakwa was the Nkabom Gala trophy which the school soccer team won at November’s interschool soccer tournament involving eight universities.
