Adabraka, ACCRA. February 14, 2022. The management of African University College of Communications (AUCC) has assured the school that it is committed to supporting students’ entrepreneurial efforts as part of its mission to assist the youth to discover themselves. AUCC President Prof. Isaac Abeku Blankson reiterated this promise today when he and his Management team graced the opening of a photo exhibition by Raphael Abdul-Razak Dassah at the South wing of Discovery House, Adabraka, Accra.

The AUCC president who declared the event open was accompanied by the Ag. Provost university college Dr. Nefertitit Puplampu, The Dean of Kojo Yankah Communication School Dr. Fara Awindor, and the Dean of Sam Jonah Business School Dr. Vijay Bhasin. The exhibition of 14 framed photographs was jointly organized by AUCC School of Creative Arts (SoCA) and the Visual Communications Department under the auspices of  the Ama Ata Aidoo Centre for Creative Writing.  The Valentine’s Day-inspired event themed It Takes Two is scheduled to run until March 14. It is open to the public free from 10 am to 5 pm every weekday.

According to photographer Raphael Abdul-Razak Dassah, currently a Visual Communications senior at AUCC, this collaboration with the Aidoo Centre is a dream come true.

“It has always been my dream to have my works exhibited on walls for others to watch,” said the cinematographer emotionally. “I hope It Takes Two inspires other students to also showcase their talent to the world.”

Students and staff at the opening said they were “motivated” and “inspired” by the photographs exhibited. Dassah’s creativity and eye for the unique is what makes him stand out. All the pictures are beautiful and they capture the models’ personalities. They show affection through connection and intimacy.
