Kelvinboy, Camidoh to perform at AUCC 20th SRC Week

Monday April 4, 2022. Accra: Saturday April 2, 2022 marked the beginning of the 20th SRC week celebrations. The event kicked off at exactly 9:10am at Discovery House with 30 students floating for two hours through the neighboring streets of Adabraka, Circle, and Kokomlemle dancing to music, distributing AUCC flyers and making the public aware of AUCC SRC week events.

We caught up with AUCC SRC President Samuel Agyakwa Okodie for a chat. Following, excerpts from the interview.

Q: What are the outlined programs for this SRC WEEK celebration?

Ans: Monday 4th April, 2022 is the launching. We will be receiving outstanding personalities to come share their thoughts on the theme and share life experience with the students.

Wednesday is a seminar dubbed “Financial Freedom Seminar”. We are looking forward to hosting outstanding speakers in economics and management to come break down to students how they can prudently manage their finances to be independent even before they graduate. And also present to students investment opportunities and other avenues that they can maneuver to increase their finances.

Friday is the football gala among AUCC, AUCC Alumni and WISCONSIN.

Saturday is the climax: there is going to be medical screening, awards night, alumni homecoming and artiste night. We are making arrangements to blend the night with a comedy show.

Q: What is the objective of the celebrations?

Ans: The 20th AUCC SRC WEEK would among other things present opportunities, skills, education and training to students. The focus is to prepare the student to be nationalistic and understand development of the nation starts with them. Our behavior, actions towards one another, and how we respond to national issues depicts our quota to national development.

Q: What artistes must we expect to mount the stage this weekend?

Ans: We looking at Kelvyn Boy, Camidoh and a couple of other surprises. We’ll confirm that. We will keep students updated with the timelines to ensure they patronize the week-long celebration.
