🚩 Vivo Energy Ghana, the marketer and distributor of Shell-branded fuels and lubricants has appointed Kader Maiga as its new Managing Director following Ben Hassan Ouattara’s end of tenure. He comes on board with over 20 years of experience in the energy sector, including senior management positions with Shell and Vivo Energy. He holds a Master’s degree in Economic Science from the University of Wuppertal in Germany. Mr Maiga’s career started in Shell as a retail manager for Guinea and Mali where he changed the face of retail business with his innovative and leadership approach to selling fuels and lubricants, progressing to become the Country Chairman for Mali.

🚩Xodus Foundation has set aside some GH¢30,000 grant to be given to startups and small businesses that are struggling amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the Executive Director of Xodus Communications Limited, Richard Abbey Junior, the initiative dubbed “The Pitch” is to serve as a social change maker by providing technical and financial support to a selected number of entrepreneurs in Ghana, so as to help them grow and scale up their businesses into profitable ventures.

🚩Lemonade Finance, a cross-border app which allows Africans in the diaspora to send and receive money from their home country, is now available to Ghanaians in the U.K. Ghanaians in the U.K will be able to send remittance to their family or friends at home at the best rates on the market. Speaking to Joy Business, Co-founder and CEO of Lemonade Finance, Ridwan Olalere stated that the launch caps a busy year for the startup, which recently announced its pre-seed funding raise of $725,000.

🚩Trainees under the Nation Builders’ Corps have been asked to remain at post until the processes to give them permanent employment are over. The directive comes after a high-level stakeholder meeting led by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the Chief of Staff Frema Opare had been held. According to the directive, the trainees will remain at post pending permanent arrangements. The trainees have been asked to continue to discharge their duties diligently and professionally at the various workplaces.
