Discovery House. November 7, 2022: Ghanaian journalist and social entrepreneur Kofi Adoma Nwanwani has advised students not to wait for employment opportunities but rather establish an online television channel even while they are still in school.

The founder of Kofi-TV said this in a recent meeting he had with student journalists at the Sam Quaicoe Library of the African University College of Communications (AUCC) at Adabraka November, 2022.

“Students should not wait until they graduate before they start looking for jobs; they should employ themselves”, he said.

The multiple award-winning journalist and radio presenter said what is needed to make the first step is passion for journalism.

‘Without passion, one cannot do anything. You need to have passion for something before you do it even if it doesn’t bring money initially”, he said.

The celebrity vlogger explained that the future of journalism is with online television.

‘’Start a one-man TV today, because that is what is in the curve. We are all moving this way. We will reach the curve and see what is in the curve. That curve is online‘, he stressed.

He explained that all that one needs fundamentally for a successful one-man TV operation is a smart phone and how to utilize it.

The Brekum-born AUCC alum also known as Stephen Kofi Adoma has been in the media space for almost two decades, entertaining listeners with his unique brand of dramatized vernacular news. Until he founded Kofi-TV, he paid his dues through hard work at GBC Radio, Multimedia Group and the Angel Broadcasting Network family where he rose to Director of News.

Industry-Institute-Interaction is an initiative by the Ama Ata Aidoo Centre for Creative Writing at AUCC to connect students to preferred industry expectations and practices.
